‘Star Wars: The Hive’ – Chapter 5 (Part 2)
Tuesday. It’s hard to believe that it’s only the second day of the week. I feel like I’m on my fourth day of the week, not the second. I’m not sure why I feel that way, I just do. I got up this morning and got myself going for the day. The kids have started to get themselves into a routine, so it’s nice to see them just jump to it when then need to in the morning. I took my shower and got ready for work and we all came together and had a breakfast together. I finished up and I was off to work while the kids were off to school.
I got to school and set things up for my work today. Things went pretty well throughout the day. I had several meetings that I’m getting ready for, so I continue to work on getting things ready for those meetings and am feeling a little stress for the beginning of the year, when I would normally not be feeling that kind of stress. But, I made it through my day today and was able stay as unstressed as I possibly could. I was happy with how my students performed today, although I’ll admit that all of my students are starting to look pretty tired and I was wondering if today was Monday and not Tuesday. My guess – the students are just NOW starting to realize they can’t stay out as late as they used to during the summer and that it is catching up with them during the school day. I got done with my instruction day and went immediately into a meeting about our PLC meeting next week. I’m hoping the PLC will go well and I hope that I’m able to present something to the staff that will explain the concept well to them. That’s my hope and after our meeting today, I feel more confident with my ability to be able to do that.
I finished up with my day and on my way home from work, Heather called me and asked if I would be willing to pick up Ruth from volleyball and I said sure. I came home and took a quick ten minute nap and then took off to get Ruth while Heather finished up dinner for the family. We came home and ate dinner together. After dinner I watched “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” with the family and then I went back to work on paperwork type things and emails and updated some systems in my house. I then also worked on my Captain Mal pistol which is almost complete. By the end of the night tonight, I was putting on lacquer coats to finish the weapon out. I kept working on things while watching some TV shows like “Family Guy” and then I switched over to watching “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and then watched the finale of “Big Brother”. After that, I went to bed.
Okay, let’s talk about Part 2 of Chapter 5 of “Star Wars: The Hive” by Steven Barnes……Chapter 5 (Part 2): They were too far from either side of the walls as two more worms burst forth from the floor. they simply had to make a stand. They ran towards the rocks as Obi-Wan took the position of rear guard. He fought the worm and heard it’s screams echo through The Force. One of the worms grabbed Jesson’s leg, but Kenobi severed the worm’s head and it died, but not until it lacerated the X’Ting warrior’s leg. Kenobi looked at the wound and then bound it as quick as he could while the X’Ting made no sounds of pain. then the Master Jedi had realized that the X’Ting farmers had finally built up their soil enough to hide predators. The X’Ting in the first room were taken surprise by these predators. They were trapped and were so desperate to survive, they had to resort to cannibalism. Kenobi realized that they too, were trapped. Here, in the dark, Kenobi vowed that now was not going to be his time to die. the worms hissed at them as Kenobi swung at it with his lightsaber. He felt it shriek through The Force. Before he knew it, more worms joined the fight till there were ten or fifteen in the room. Kenobi wondered how they were communicating with each other when he shown the light up and asked what was above them when Kenoib realized it was not something, but a someone. As Jesson got to the top, he realized it was the body of his brother, Tesser, who had crawled up here to avoid the worms and died. Jesson was convinced they were gonna die and Kenobi said that was defeatest attitude and that they will make it farther. Jesson asked if he had a plan and Kenobi said “not yet”. Obi-Wan started to assess how farto the door on the other end and realized it was about sixty meters. He asked Jesson what equipment they had left. jesson said they had a glowlight and grapnel line. Kenobi asked to see the grapnel gun and line. It was standard issue with about twenty meters of line…..
