Saturday. I had a day off with not much going on, but I mentally had a lot of things that I was putting pressure on myself to get done. I always do that and I never get done half the things that I think I can get done. Often times I put the “Superman” pressure on myself to get things done and I am lucky if I get half of it done. Well, here is what I planned to finish today. I wanted to get done my video of “Once Upon A Mattress” (high priority), start working on a jail and bail for the Falco Clan, start to work on student music videos, start to work on student podcasts, work on and record the latest “Clone Wars in a Galactic Minute”, finish grading papers, paint parts of the ceiling in my bathroom, watch the final episodes of “Battlestar Galactica”, finish watching everything on the DVR, oh and go see “A-Team” at the movie theater. Yeah, I had too much planned today!
So, I got up around seven-thirty this morning because Heather and the kids were up at six-thirty and were out the door not too long after. So, I got up around seven-thirty and the video that my computer was working on all night didn’t work at ALL!! So, I was back to square one trying to edit the video. So, I used a different editing program and started processing the video and then went back to sleep for about another two hours and then officially got up around ten o’clock or so. I got out of bed and headed to the basement and started working on watching “Battlestar Galactica” with the hope that I could finish the show by the end of the weekend. I worked on paperwork for school and started processing videos of my students’ videos from school. At about noon, I stopped working on videos to go upstairs and get some lunch and I continued to watch “Battlestar Galactica”.
After lunch, I went upstairs and found out that the video I’ve been trying to process finally worked! So, I quickly started to round things up and produce my first video of the performances. As Windows DVD Maker worked, I watched the FIFA World Cup game of the United States versus England. While the game was going on, I decided to start painting the ceiling of the bathroom and try to patch that area of the house. I then produced my first video and as the DVD finished burning, it started raining like a wild banshee in the area! I prayed that the power would not go out. But there was a bad storm around here and it rained like wild animals! I got done with the videos and headed back downstairs and continued watching “Battlestar Galactica” and working on classroom music videos and then would go upstairs every once in a while and paint the ceiling of the bathroom.
After a while, I called my buddy Garry and he came over and picked me up and we went to the Regal Cinemas on Front Street and watched the movie “A-Team”. Now, I’m going to review the movie. If you want to read my review, highlight the following text:
Okay, overall, I actually really liked the movie “A-Team”. As a longtime fan of the old 1980′s serial show, I went into this movie with some trepadation about what I was going to see. I didn’t want to see the movie as a 1980′s show turned into a movie. I didn’t want to see a complete rehash of the show either. I wanted my old A-Team back, with a new spin on the concept. I hate to admit it, but I wanted to see what would be deemed by some as an impossible expectation. Well, the impossible was made possible. Liam Neeson did a great job in this movie! It really gives me even more repsect for an actor that I already had a lof to respect for. But on top of that, he really played the role of Hannibal well and I really liked how he played the role. It was a mixture of a little cynical humor along with the old-fashioned hardball attitude that the leader of the group had. Bradley Cooper (Faceman) left me wanting a little more. He’s supposed to be a ladie’s man, but he never came acrossed that way to me. He was almost a little too grainy. It would have been better to have a better looking guy in this role. I thought Bradley Cooper was a bad idea. Quinton Jackson (B.A. Barackas) was awesome! I had high expectations for this character because as a kid I LOVED Mister T. This guy filled his shoes, but in a different way. He wasn’t as hard-nosed as Mr. T, but he was just as mean and just as overbearing. Sharlto Copley (Murdock) was probably the best of all of the characters of the movie. I’m not sure how he prepared for the role, but if I were to guess, I would guess that he watched the original show over and over and over again. He portrayed the role the most accurate and I love the half insane way he played the role of Murdock and he was the BEST Murdock I’ve seen for A-Team EVER! Even better than the original. The only other person who was of note was Jessica Biel and I know they brought her in as a sexy female type. Well, that worked! She was sexy and she was female. Good call! Great movie and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the original show!
Okay, after we got back home, the kids were here with Heather and she had red hair (she went to a salon with the kids today) and she looks pretty sexy!
Yeah, I have to say that, she’s my wife, but I’m being completely honest here! We went downstairs and watched part of “Back to the Future” on ABC Family while I worked on some videos and then went to bed.
Okay, let’s talk about Part 3 of Chapter 27 of “Star Wars – Medstar II: Jedi Healer, A Clone Wars Novel” by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry……Chapter 27 (Part 3): Jos wondered how he got to the point where he was considering ending his own life. He remembered his mental training, when he would tell patients to wait and that there is always something worth living for. He could think of thousands of examples of those who were rich, then poor, then rich again. Or those that fought back froma disease to finally se a cure. If you are alive, you have a fighting chance. If you were dead, there were no more possibilities. He sighed as he knew these were all things that he had said to his own patients. He thought back about a man named Leig Duwan who was an old man at Coruscant Med. The old man had a story from Alderaan where he explained that his father had died, his mother was hospitalized, and his sister had gone missing. He told the clas that he failed an exam and even thought about suicide. But, eh muddled through and things seemed to improve. Then he met a man on the street that thanked him for saving his life. Duwan tried to explain that it was his job, but the man went on to explain that he himself had been going through a great depression and was ready to commit suicide. He had made a pact with himself that on his way to committing suicide, if he ran into just one person who would smile at him, then he would not go through with it. He told Duwan that he was on his way in and smiled and nodded to the mand and he acknowledged he is the only reason he is still here today. His point was that he wasn’t able to save the man through surgery, but through understanding of bing in that deep, dark place. Jos looked at his chrono and he had rounds coming up and he would need to do them or someone else would be stuck with those rounds. He told himself that all he needed to do was make his rounds and fill out his reports for the next hour. This hour was the only one that mattered for now.
