It’s Saturday and two words can sum up my day – ARMOR – PARTY! I got up around nine o’clock this morning (still exhausted because of yesterday) and headed into the shower. I got my shower and continued to pack up my shop and before I knew it, I had to pack up my car. As I tried to pack up my car, I was unable to get in the piece of sintra into the car. So, Heather said she could help me, so she drove with me over to the Tri Cities Opera workshop and showed me where it was and also was able to help me bring my piece of sintra. I got to the workshop and introduced myself to everyone and showed off my new rifle. Everyone seemed pretty impressed with my new sniper and I think it went over well. I got some things set up and started wot work with some of the guys that were there.
As we worked throughout the day, more and more people showed up. We had a great old time working on armor. We designed, we put things together and we came up with new designs and concepts and worked together as a team. We ordered some pizza from “Nirchi’s” for lunch and we had some classic Spiedies chicken pizza. We then also had a bit of a meeting and I stepped down from my Ver’alor position within the Falco Clan. I was happy to step down and let some other members of the Clan step in and step up. So, I stepped down as Ver’alor and Synnr stepped in as the new Ver’alor. Then Danny assigned the new Ruu’salors as Genet and Ivin’kyr. It was pretty cool to see the torch get passed. I didn’t personally get much done, but I was able to work with Gary on his armor and he got a great start. We also worked on getting two others official as well. I then got three requests for T-Visors, so I thought I better make a trip to the store.
So, I left with Gary and two others. We went to the Wal Mart in Johnson City to get some things we needed and I even picked up a toy pistol that looked really cool that David was telling us about. So, I got two there and we went on our way. We then headed over to “JoAnn’s Fabrics” and luckily they were having a notions sale and I was able to buy an entire box of sewable velcro for 50% off! We then headed over to the Wal Mart in Vestal and got two more of the toys and then headed to “Lowes” so I could get some face shields for T-Visors. We went back to the shop and Gary took himself and another member of our group over to my house so that she could fit them for vests. I continued to work on armor and helmets. Gary came back and we worked till rather late at night on armor. People started to filter out slowly over time. Heather then came over with the kids to lend a hand and help out. She helped me cut and make some odd shaped T-Visors for some helmets I have never seen before. We even had to make one in the shape of an M. By this point, I was mentally and physically shot. I had to step away for a little bit out of frustration.
I took a walk around the block and came back. As I continued to work, Heather decided to leave to get something to eat. I continued to work on a Mandalorian bucket and then got a frantic call from my wife. She was stuck on the side of the road at the route 17/81 split. Apparently something went “boom” under the passenger side dash and they got white smoke in the cabin of the truck. So, I left the shop immediately. I got there and we talked about what happened. She called the tow truck already, so she had called Gary and asked him to pick up the kids and myself. We would go back to the shop, she would wait around for the tow truck to show up and tow the car to our house. Then she would bring my car back to the shop and we were hoping Gary would help us get home.
So, we went back to the shop and I got a whole bunch of things done rather quickly. After that, Heather showed and we packed up and cleaned up the shop. By the time we were done and leaving it was around ten o’clock or so. We then headed directly over to my house with Gary and another car full of Falco Clan members. Heather then sewed on some velcro for another member and we got him set before they headed off to home in Rochester. Heather and I then headed upstairs and made some margaritas (considering our day) and then watched “Parking Wars” for about two hours while we just chilled and went to bed at around two in the morning on Sunday. Good thing we weren’t going to church tomorrow {heh}.
Okay, let’s talk about Part 12 of Chapter 21 of “Star Wars – Republic Commandos: Triple Zero” by Karen Traviss……
Chapter 21 (Part 12): Skirata checked his chrono and it was 2155 and he double-checked with Bard’ika making sure the explosive packs were well wrapped. He said they were thoroughly packed and even affecting the handling of the speeder. Kal told him to take it easy as they have some time and Jusik asked that if things got hairy, can he use his Force powers. Kal told him there would be no witnesses so go ahead. Jusik took the speeder over the site before they landed and Skirata observed Ordo and Sev on the rooftop but could not find Delta and Omega which he actually found reassuring. Tonight would be a test for these two finely trained squads and there were enough explosives here to demo a city block, so they would need to go careful for the public’s sake. A group of five men and a woman greeted them as they landed. Kal said the credits cleared fine as the woman looked at all the rough bags mounted on the speeder and she asked if it was all five-hundred grade. Kal said there were four hundred quarter-kilo packs and suggested they split it for transportation. She told the clone that she knew how to handle explosives as she took out one a knife and Kal knew that Jusik suddenly became edgey as an electro static reaction would set off the explosives. Mereel’s chemical enhancement would now be their undoing!…..
