Well, it’s Tuesday and although it was the second day of the week, it felt like a Monday somehow. I got up this morning and headed straight for the shower. I took my shower and Heather came in and said goodbye a minute and then she was off to work while I finished up my shower. After my shower, I got dressed for work and joined the kids in the family room and we watched “Fox and Friends” while we got ready for our days. Fox seems surprised at the idea that we may go into the Republican National Convention with a brokered convention. I’m not surprised at all and I think that is exactly what some people are banking on. In a situation like that, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Tea Party leader like Sarah Palin or Tim Pawlenty come out of a convention like that with the nod. That would be every liberal’s worst nightmare. However, I don’t think any of it will matter. It will not matter who the Republican nominee is. I truly believe that Obama will do whatever it takes to win the election this year. I think somehow the Democrats have figured out how to “buck” the system. I think there will be more “voting dead” than ever before, more illegals voting, and more people voting with the name Jose and John than ever before in American history! That is my belief anyway, take it or leave it. Anyway, after some time I was off to work and the kids were off to school.
I got to work and set things up for my day. It was another day of Music Theory for my students. My sixth graders finished their unit on sharps and flats and started a unit on key signatures. My seventh graders did a unit on common time and compound meter and we began to explain how compound meter works. My eighth graders did their review on the Rhythm Pyramid and the stem rules. Overall, my instructional day went rather well with just a few minor issues. But I dealt with them and we moved on. I got done with my instructional day and then hung out for SMASH rehearsal. Of course I think all my students were still running on the high of last week’s STOMP concert. We had a great rehearsal and talked about our auditions that are going to start next week. I think the students are just as anxious as we are to see who we can get to audition for our group. After SMASH rehearsal, I headed right home.
I got home and joined the family for dinner right away. We ate some chili for dinner and after dinner, Heather and I relaxed and talked for a little bit while we watched the news. After that I went into the basement and watched “The Simpsons”, “Napolean Dynamite”, and “American Choppers” on DVR while I continued to work on Gary’s helmet because I have it set in my head that I am going to get him set before Genericon. I then watched “Glee”, “Last Man Standing”, “New Girl”, an episode of “Dr. Phil” and “Top Shot” before going to bed.
Okay, let’s talk about Part 3 of Chapter 25 of “Star Wars: Jedi Trial” by David Sherman and Dan Cragg……..
Chapter 25 (Part 3): Anakin go ton the comms and told all his men to follow him as he withdrew his lightsaber and insist they follow his light. He led his own transport forward as the others followed behind them as Anakin deflected laser blast after laser blast. At the same time, Halcyon’s own transports were starting to get the enemy transports disabled or to retreat. Once they reached their objectives, Anakin ordered the troops to dismount and form battalions. As they unloaded, other vehicles gave covering fire and Anakin asked the Fire Direction Center to give them covering fire as well. They confirmed and within five seconds, the top fo the hill became a ball of fire as Anakin got to the head of the lead battalion. As he said that no one could survive that, the battalion commander disagreed and then suggested Anakin stay behind with the reserves. He told the colonel to take the hill and the battalion advanced by company’s. They ran into droid skirmishers almost immediately and just as the battalion commander reported that they were going to overrun them, a mine went off which threw his body into the boulders and severed him just below the knees. He became unconscious and sometime later a woman came by and gave his battered body some water……
